
Music therapy is an evidence-based psychological clinical intervention that uses music as a treatment option to support clients' psychological, emotional, cognitive, physical, communicative, developmental, and social needs.
All MA qualified Music Therapists in the UK are registered with Health & Care Professional Council (HCPC) under Arts Therapists and are considered allied healthcare professionals.

Music Therapy aims to achieve non-musical goals through any of the following interventions:

No. Musical ability or experience is not required to engage or benefit from music therapy as we work towards non-musical goals. There will be a range of musical instruments and assistive technology provided during sessions.
In line with other allied healthcare professionals, these are my current rates:

Assessment (including consultation, 3 sessions, review meeting & assessment report) - £325
​
40 minute individual session - £70
60 minute family/ group session - £120
​
Most individuals and families finance short-term therapy privately. If you or your child requires long-term support, you may be able to access therapy through Adoption Support Fund, EHCP, Pupil Premium Fund, Jessie's Fund, or other options. Please contact me for more information.
Sessions may be at the York Music Therapy Studio, just off Tadcaster Road, YO24, in your home, school, or in a community setting.
Anyone can self-refer to Music Therapy. Otherwise parents, carers, teachers, social workers, special needs assistant or doctors can refer someone to Music Therapy. Just complete the Contact Us page, email, or call us.
